Pregnancy Signs

Pregnancy signs vary from woman to woman as well as from pregnancy to pregnancy. However, the most significant sign that a woman is pregnant is a missing period or menstrual cycle. Understanding the symptoms of pregnancy is very important because some symptoms may be unrelated to pregnancy and may indicate a different medical condition exists.

Some women start feeling the symptoms of pregnancy within just a week of conception. For other women, it may take two, three or even five weeks before they begin to feel different. For some women, they may not feel symptoms at all.

Pregnancy Symptoms

If you have recently been sexually active, there is the possibility that you are pregnant. Pregnancy symptoms generally present very early on and the most common sign, aside from a missed menstrual cycle is fatigue. Tiredness is an early pregnancy symptom that can occur as early as a week after becoming pregnant. Generally, the symptoms are an overall feeling of being run down and just physically tired all the time.

Other symptoms of pregnancy include swollen and tender breasts which usually presents two or three weeks after becoming pregnant. For many women, their breasts feel tender and sore, and may also feel or appear swollen.

Early Signs of Pregnancy

Between two and eight weeks, for many women morning sickness sets in. This unpleasant symptom of pregnancy entails a relatively constant state of nausea. Although it is called morning sickness, the actual symptoms may be present at any time, or all of the time during this period of pregnancy.

Other pregnancy symptoms present at later stages during the pregnancy, and are to be expected. Depending on the woman, these symptoms may be severe or very light, but may include: backache, food cravings, headaches, frequent urination, and darkening of the areola.

Calendar for Pregnancy

Aside from the symptoms of pregnancy, a pregnancy calendar may be a useful way to track your pregnancy week by week. Your baby will grow on a daily basis, and a week by week approach may help to both manage the changes, as well as enhance the experience of pregnancy.

For many women, using a pregnancy calendar helps to keep the experience in perspective. Depending on your disposition, there are many types of pregnancy calendars to choose from. Instead of actual calendaring, many women also find it useful to reference a book such as what to expect when expecting and the week by week descriptions to help the monitor their pregnancy and how their body is changing.

Here Are 10 Ways To Dress When You Find Out You Are Pregnant

April 9, 2010 by Adriana Noton

It might be your first baby or your last but you know what comes next – maternity clothes! Before the carriage and after the glow sets in, your body is going to start to physically change. Here are 10 ways to dress when you find out you are pregnant.

First, try to avoid rushing out and buying all the maternity clothes you can right away. Instead, wait and find ways to refurbish the clothes you already have. Consider things like a belly band from a maternity store, which will help you wear your jeans unzippered. A second thing to consider is buying clothes that are meant for plus sized women. They’ll be comfortable and are often cheaper than maternity wear. Consider these for transitional pieces.

A third option for dressing when pregnant is to buy from a thrift store. Sometimes maternity formal wear can be found second hand for a fraction of the full cost. Maternity clothes are typically only worn during the last three months of pregnancy, and that’s a brief time to buy full price expensive clothing for. A fourth option is to borrow clothing from friends. Moms often get pregnant around the same time. Friends and family might have clothing worth borrowing that’s in good shape.

A fifth choice for dressing when pregnant is to dress with the body’s silhouette in mind, like body-fitting maternity jeans. Some shift-like clothing with an A-line or a dress or top with an empire waist that’s actually just beneath the breasts will make the pregnant mom look stunning and will feel comfortable too. And sixth, consider looking into Dad’s closet. Sometimes men’s clothing can be very comfortable. A button up shirt left loose and undone over a T-shirt, or buttoned over a pair of leggings, can look classy if bangles and a choker are added as accessories.

Using layers can help break up the solid size of a pregnant woman’s body. Layers are a seventh option for dressing when pregnant. Layers can be taken off if a pregnant woman starts to get too hot, too. Be wary of looking sloppy instead of sophisticated though, which is often a hazard of the layered look. You may prefer wearing a classy maternity formal dress instead.

Sometimes it may be okay to show skin as well. An eighth way of dressing when pregnant could include continuing to show off great legs and arms and a burgeoning cleavage. It is important to avoid trying to wear old non-maternity clothing though, as this can be painfully constricting as the body swells more and more.

A ninth way of dressing for maternity purposes might include choosing clothing that moms feel comfortable wearing after pregnancy too. When a baby is first born, the mother often has a lot of physical discomfort that can last weeks or even months. Nursing bras will fit during pregnancy too, and maternity wear after pregnancy can ease moms into their new role with greater comfort.

The tenth tip for dressing when pregnant is to remember that the chemicals inside the body are changing to help pregnancy and birth happen naturally. One of these chemicals is relaxin, and relaxin in the body helps joints soften, especially in the pelvis. However, feet joints also spread during pregnancy, so it’s a bad time to consider new high heels. Comfort and safety are always a part of 10 ways to dress when you find out you are pregnant.

The glow from a pregnant woman is accentuated by her choices in the best maternity clothes. This online retailer knows how to add comfort and style to your maternity wardrobe, including the very stylish Olian maternity clothes collection.

Olian Maternity Wear For Stylish Pregnancy

February 25, 2010 by Adriana Noton

Until recently maternity clothing has been just about as unattractive as you could possibly imagine. It has taken designers a while to hit upon the idea that pregnant women want to still look and feel feminine, even with a big belly. The Olian maternity clothing range has beautiful and stylish clothing to get you through your pregnancy.

The designer behind the lovely Olian Maternity clothing is Lili del Cueto. She was prompted to start designing maternity wear when she fell pregnant and got sick of wearing dowdy and unattractive clothing. She realized that modern women who were pregnant still wanted to feel sexy and womanly and that there was not the clothing range on the market for them to successfully and comfortably do that.

From humble beginnings cutting out designs on her parents’ floor, she has become a huge success stocking more than 500 boutiques with her stylish clothing. Now, after two decades in business, Olian’s team of designers are continually challenging themselves to come up with fresh and fashionable designs that make pregnant women feel radiant and feminine. The top focus of the company is to design maternity clothing that of the very best quality and fit.

The Olian look, while designs are constantly being updated and released, often make use of bold prints and colors that are combined with high quality fabrics and comfortable sizing. With an Olian design on, you will be no shrinking violet in the fashion stakes throughout your pregnancy. No fat pants and tent dress are allowed.

One of the great things about some of the Olian maternity range is that they can still be used after the nine months is up. The classic wrap dress, which is signature Olian product can just as easily be worn following the birth of the baby – that means more value for money from the high quality clothing. Maxi dresses also feature highly in the range and these can also easily be adapted to your regular wardrobe when you have finished with the need for maternity wear.

The Olian range is a thorough one with many pieces included across the whole clothing spectrum. You can buy tops, dresses, pants and bottoms, nursing tops, t-shirts, sweaters and coats, sleepwear and swim wear. Olian also offers some great accessories such as nappy bags, that don’t look like matronly nappy bags.

It can be difficult when you are looking for maternity wear to find things for the office or workplace that are appropriate or things for going out and special occasions. That is no problem with Olian since the range is a complete one and incorporates the most beautiful current trends with pregnancy and nursing necessities. You can find Olian maternity clothing stocked in the best baby and maternity boutiques around the United States and in selected international locations.

With Olian maternity clothing you will look and feel wonderful throughout your maternity and your nursing periods. There is no reason that you should feel frumpy or get stuck with the same couple of clothing options for nine months – Olian is here to help.

Expecting mothers should bask in the glory of pregnancy by wearing designer Olian maternity clothing. Since 2003, this maternity boutique has helped women choose and shop for fashionable maternity clothes at affordable prices.
