How Important Is Acupuncture on Infertility

April 29, 2010 by Linda Golden

For centuries, the art and often referred to as the health practice of acupuncture has been present in various countries mostly in the Asian region. This illustrates the magnificence as well as complicated task of pinning fine needles in several vital points of the body for various purposes such as relieving pain and treating some health concerns. The basic effect of acupuncture on infertility is to regulate the person’s blood pressure by proper stimulation of the central nervous system. It largely stimulates the production and release of endorphins that help inhibiting the pain and neurohormones and neurotransmitters that allow for the body to heal by itself.

Acupuncture on infertility is also considered as one of the effective treatments on different infertility concerns specifically imbalances on hormones. The levels of hormones are leveled accordingly through increasing blood flow on different vital organs as it regulates the body system. Moreover it also helps enhance the vital functions of the ovaries as well as follicles. Endometrium plays a major role in thickening the uterus lining and also benefits from acupuncture through increased blood flow. A particular infertility treatment like IVF or In Vitro Fertilization is also greatly aided in elevating its success rate. In reality, a large number of specialists now offer acupuncture as part of IVF treatment. This becomes quite noticeable in the developments done in the process of transferring the embryo which results to success in pregnancy. Another particular concern in infertility that can be treated with acupuncture as well is that of having spasmed tubes. This is simply done by making these spasmed tubes into de-spasmed ones. Futheron, there are also plenty of other infertility issues that can be effectively treated with acupuncture such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, increased follicle stimulating hormone, recurring pregnancy loss, idiopathic infertility, luteal phase defect, hyperprolactinemia, and also sperm DNA fragmentation.

The body has the capacity to heal itself naturally and acupuncture also enhances this ability. In this case, the more you undergo acupuncture, the healthier it is. For those women who are about to take IVF treatments or donor egg transfer, they are often dealt with acupuncture for about three to four months before undergoing the said process. Acupuncture is strongly advised for women before and after they have the embryo transfer. This is done for heightening the therapeutic effect together with various infertility treatments. Basically, fertility treatments often are the cause of stress for the person involved. And what is considered the best remedy for this is acupuncture. because acupuncture has a lot of ways to add to the treatment of infertility, it is highly advisable for couples who are suffering from this type of concern to give each option a shot.

Acupuncture also involves some risks but they are minimal. However, miscarriage can occur when acupuncture is done improperly on a pregnant woman. This makes it significant to be sure that acupuncture is only to be done by a certified acupuncturist who is adept and who specializes on this therapy. Electro-acupuncture, a more advanced form of acupuncture is used to inhibit pain during labor. The need to be hospitalized is also significantly reduced which helps a person save from further expenses.

On top of all, recent researches have revealed that the right blend of herbal medicine, acupuncture, and traditional medications serve as the ultimate method in treating infertility. In most cases, acupuncture and herbal medicines are seen to be more effective through the aid of traditional medical interventions.

PCOS and Infertility – The Truth About it

April 29, 2010 by Linda Golden

If you suffer from infertility, you should be tested for PCOs and try to find out if that is what is preventing you from getting pregnant; if it is, there are a few steps you can take to overcome the issue but make sure you get a safe diagnosis by a certified practitioner.

So what is this PCOS and Infertility? Sounds like bigs words, right? Because they are.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is the condition that has been affecting a number of women with their menstrual cycle and hormone levels, that eventually leads to the distress in the fertility and even physical appearance. From the construction of this medical condition, it is spelled out as many cysts in the ovary of women, hence Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.

PCOS and infertility are directly related to your insulin resistance – insulin is responsible for the communication between your reproductive system and your pituitary gland, thus being the one in charge of letting your brain release the necessary hormones into your blood stream. Such hormones are what make your ovulation regular or irregular and that is why PCOS and infertility are two related ailments; if your case is lack of insulin, you will need to get proper replacement of that substance thru an insulin therapy.

So here’s the problem with PCOS and Infertility. The excess male hormones that is produced with PCOS are affecting the growth and production of estrogen, or female hormones, which are necessary for ovulation. So this causes women with PCOS unable to produce the necessary amount of hormones to get the follicles to mature.

In sum, when your insulin levels are not normal, your reproductive system does not work well, and your brain cannot communicate well with your reductive organs, thus the direct connection between infertility and PCOs.

A solution? Glucophage or metformin have shown good results for many patients and have been responsible for regulating many menstrual cycles and ovulation cycles around the world; the success rate is around 20% in these cases; another successful treatment available for PCOS and infertility is the Clomid as it induces ovulation, by “fighting” the estrogens levels in your blood, thus making it easier for you to ovulate. This treatment has shown very few side effects but it must be followed thru with care because high doses of it can cause problems in your uterus.

Do they sound like big words? They probably do, but most of which would likely be big scientific words. If you are among those who have irregular and infrequent menstrual cycle, as having about only nine or fewer periods in a year’s time, or having heavier than the normal excretion of blood during this menstruation, then this might be indicator enough to have yourself checked for possible abnormalities or formation of cysts in the ovaries, and ultimately, that chances of being infertile. As they say, the early bird, catches the worms. What does it have to do with PCOS and Infertility? Simply that early detection may ward off any abnormalities, and hence comes the easy flying of the stork.

Diet and Exercise During Pregnancy

April 29, 2010 by Sam Ohseo

Most women are able to exercise during pregnancy as long as they do so carefully.

Keeping fit during your pregnancy has many benefits, including: moderating mood swings, maintaining circulatory system health, and increasing muscle tone. Proper exercise can also prevent backaches, improve sleep and maintain joint flexibility. The endorphins that are released when you exercise help you maintain a good mood. Exercise will also strengthen your back, buttocks and thighs which will help your posture and prevent backaches. Your joints are kept well oiled when you do daily stretching. It is vital, however, to keep the exercise to a mild level and make sure that it’s appropriate for the various stages of your pregnancy.

The best exercises during pregnancy include swimming, spinning and strengthening your pelvic muscles.

Swimming is a great cardiovascular exercise and has the added benefit of easing the back and leg burden during later stages. Most women enjoy the (all too temporary) relief during those final months.

Keeping the cardiovascular system active helps regulate the endocrine system and keeps muscle tissues full and joints flexible. Swimming has the added benefit of working nearly all the muscles and joints in a low-impact way. Knees get a break from the higher stress of carrying additional weight and breathing exercises can be done while wading, in between laps.

During the first six months, spinning can be a great exercise provided you do it in moderation. Spinning will help strengthen your pelvic and stomach muscles while simultaneously providing cardio benefits. Spinning helps build the muscles that you will use during your delivery, as well as strengthening your legs to help keep you mobile during your pregnancy. It is recommended that you do not do more than ten minutes of spinning, and that you stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness or at any signs of bleeding or fluid loss.

The final recommended exercise is “Kegels”. Kegels are a great exercise to strengthen your pelvic muscles which are critical to the delivery process. The key to kegels is to focus on the right muscles. The best way to do this is to concentrate on the muscles you use to stop urination. You should contract those muscles for a few seconds and then release. When you are doing your kegels, try not to tighten your stomach or leg muscles. You also need to maintain a normal breathing pattern during your routine.

You should always talk to your doctor about exercising during pregnancy before you start or continue an exercise program. Make sure your doctor takes the time to answer any questions you may have about exercising during pregnancy safely.

Stop immediately any activity that produces heart palpitations, back pain or light-headedness. Don’t concern yourself with weight loss during pregnancy, just keep fit in order to maximize your overall health and mental well-being.

Baby Nursery Decoration : Great Tips On What To Do First

April 29, 2010 by Sal Marino

You can’t contain your excitement as you buy your last baby nursery decoration. Tomorrow you are going to get started on baby’s room and your mind starts spinning at all the things that must be done. Some advise, get the family involved and you sit back and choreograph the whole thing.

But your time is running out so you need to fix up the nursery before baby decides to make an entrance. If you have started buying all the necessary things for the room then you are not going to have that much of a problem getting the family to help where needed.

It is always wise to do the walls first. The flooring can come afterward so that damage and spills are kept to a minimum. If you are like millions of other moms to be, then you have probably bought exquisite wall paper, with wonderful cartoon characters or heavenly motifs like clouds and sun beams.

Once your wall paper has set and dried, you can now have the carpet laid. You have probably thought of it, but buying a durable long lasting weave will last for as long a junior uses that room. A neutral color is also wise to purchase because it matches with many color schemes as well.

Your carpets are next and hopefully you have chosen a neutral color to blend in with almost anything in the room. Your carpet should also be durable because it should last for a few years as junior grows. Get it treated with a guard substance to help with those inevitable spills.

Why do babies cry so much when it’s bath time? Well it’s quite simple really, they are used to being in a warm and secure surrounding like the womb of their mothers. When it’s time to bath, they must be exposed to the elements and they feel instantly threatened. Their only mechanism to cope is by crying or screaming a lot.

To assist, you could place your bath tub close to the crib, make sure the water is nice and warm – but to hot to the skin; warm up the room a bit more and make bath time quick and painless. Wrap them up as soon as possible so that they feel secure again.

It is such a wonderful thing to be a new mother, and that is why we have a baby nursery decoration to fill up empty spaces in the room. Use them to teach your baby as well as calming them down, especially at bath time.

We all know when it comes to baby nursery decoration it could be hard to choose the right style. A lot of nursery decoration styles can be found online and some of the best online stores.
